Led by the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) in partnership with SM Cares, the advocacy event continues to serve as one of the country’s most visible platforms for promoting autism awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. This year’s walk also highlighted the urgent call for the passage of the proposed National Autism Care, Support, and Inclusion Bill, which seeks to strengthen access to services, coordinated care, and lifelong support for Filipinos on the autism spectrum.

Held simultaneously in different parts of the country, the Angels Walk gathered thousands of participants who walked in solidarity with individuals with autism, their families, educators, caregivers, and advocates. In Cebu, participants came together at SM Seaside City Cebu, joining other communities in Metro Manila and major cities nationwide in amplifying the call for a more inclusive society.

More than a symbolic walk, the event emphasized the continuing need for equal opportunities, understanding, and meaningful participation for persons on the autism spectrum. It also served as a reminder that autism inclusion requires sustained collaboration among families, schools, communities, government institutions, private organizations, and advocacy groups.

Through the Angels Walk for Autism, advocates pushed for policies and programs that address the needs of individuals on the spectrum from early intervention and education to employment, community participation, and lifelong care. The proposed national autism measure is seen as an important step toward ensuring that support systems are more accessible, coordinated, and responsive to the realities of Filipino families.

The event also underscored the importance of public awareness in breaking stigma and misconceptions surrounding autism. By bringing people together in a shared space of advocacy, the Angels Walk encouraged communities to listen, understand, and take part in building environments where individuals on the autism spectrum are respected, supported, and empowered.

As the movement continues to grow nationwide, the Angels Walk for Autism remains a powerful reminder that inclusion is not a one-day call, but a continuing commitment to create a society where every person, regardless of ability, is given the opportunity to live with dignity, purpose, and belonging.
