CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES — Msgr. Agustin V. Ancajas, a priest of the Archdiocese of
Cebu , signed a publishing agreement with Santo Niño de Cebu Publishing House (SNPH)
for his second anthology of plays on May 13, 2026, at the Teatro Rosita at the San Isidro
Labrador Parish, Talisay City, Cebu.
Msgr . Ancajas is also a playwright, director of the Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod, and
currently chair of the Cebu Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communication
(CaCoSCo). He released his first book of plays, Mga Tinagoang Bahandi (Hidden Treasures,
published by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., last 2019.
SNPH, through its partnership with the Philippine Augustinian Development Office,
produces religious and cultural publications in service of the evangelization mission of the
Catholic Church in the Philippines and beyond.
The signing was represented by Rev. Fr. Ion Miranda, OSA, Executive Director of the SNPH;
Carmelita Egot, SNPH Deputy Director; and Arly Deiparine, SNPH Project Coordinator; and
Haidee Palapar, CaCoSCo Consultant and Julieza Chua, CaCoSCo Coordinator.
The upcoming book is slated to be launched before the year ends. Msgr. Ancajas’ plays are
part of is special ministry of theater for evangelization, inspired by Via Pulchritudinis, the
Way of Beauty. Furthermore, the project supports CaCoSco’s mission to communicate /
evagelize the Catholic faith through the use of local arts, culture, and language.
After the contract signing, three one-act plays authored by Msgr. Ancajas was offered to
parishioners as a preview of the of the forthcoming publication.
